Reading and writing

StoryGarden & Storytellers Festival

The student writes a story in six guided steps and prints it. The school holds a festival for parents.

What the student does

Six steps, a character alongside, and a real book in hand

The student writes a story of their own in six guided steps. A guiding character accompanies them along the way, gives feedback and corrects. At the end the story is printed, with their name on the cover.

Six simple steps, and a whole story is born

1Who is the character?
2What do they want?
3Who helps them?
4What stands in their way?
5What do they do?
6How does it end?

And at the end: a book to read and listen to

Not another worksheet. A book.

At the end of the process there is something tangible to read, listen to, print and be proud of.

A personal illustrated book

Illustrations created specifically for their story, page after page, with their name on the title page.

Feedback and correction from the guiding character

The character accompanies the writing, suggests corrections and gives feedback, so the student improves as they go.

A printed booklet to take home

The story is printed as a booklet that goes home. Parents read, the student reads aloud, and the success continues after the bell.

A strengths map

A report for the teacher and parents that shows the student's natural coping channels, as they emerge through the story they wrote.

The school program

The Storytellers Festival: how the platform enters the school

The festival is the school program built on the platform: an author visit and a creative writing session, writing on the platform, printing, and a festival the school holds for parents.

A meeting with author Galia Oz

Students' author Galia Oz comes to the school, opens the experience and leads a creative writing session.

Students write on the platform

Every student writes their story in StoryGarden, in six steps, with the guiding character.

Printing

The stories are printed. Every student holds a booklet of their own.

A festival for parents

The school holds a festival: parents are invited, students present their books.

Campaigns and peak weeks

The festival is the peak event: parents come, students present

The festival closes the process with a moment the whole school remembers: parents are invited, the printed books are on display, and every student is an author for one evening.

The class library in StoryGarden: wooden shelves with the books the students wrote, sorted by class, one book pulled out with its cover

The pedagogical base

A proven model, not just another app

StoryGarden is built on the BASIC Ph resilience model by Prof. Mooli Lahad, one of the world's pioneers of emotional resilience research. The model has been used for some 30 years to train therapists and educators, and we translated it into a digital experience students love.

  • Strengthens core social-emotional learning (SEL) skills.
  • Develops vocabulary, narrative building and emotional expression through creation, not memorization.
  • Every story reveals the student's natural coping channels, valuable insight for the teacher.
