Like most websites, the NickAcademy site uses "cookies" and similar storage technologies. This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use, and how you can control them.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It helps the site remember actions and preferences over time, and lets us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Some of the technologies we use are "Local Storage", which works in a similar way. Throughout this page we refer to all of them together as "cookies".
Types of cookies we use
1. Essential (functionality) cookies
These are necessary for the site to function properly and are always active. For example, we store a marker in your browser indicating that we have already shown you the "Wheel of Opportunities" window, so we don't show it again on every visit. Similarly, when you take part in the wheel, the details you enter are stored temporarily in your browser until they are sent to us.
2. Analytics cookies
We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages interest them, and how long they stay. This information is aggregate and statistical, and is used solely to improve the site. These cookies are set subject to your consent.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by external services we rely on (such as Google). We also use a third-party accessibility component (tabnav) that enables display adjustments and stores your chosen accessibility preferences (such as text size and contrast) in your browser, so they are remembered on future visits. Each such service has its own privacy policy, and we recommend reviewing it.
How to control and delete cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings: block certain cookies, delete existing cookies, or get a notice before a cookie is stored. Note that blocking all cookies may impair some of the site's functions.

The functionality cookies and local storage we use do not touch any personal information of children and are not used for advertising, targeting or marketing tracking.
Relation to the Privacy Policy
Our use of cookies is part of how we handle information. For full details on what information we collect and what we do with it, see our Privacy Policy.
